Pizzeria Opens Inside Active Volcano, Somehow Does Well
A restaurant entrepreneur's idea to open a pizza place inside a volcano is impractical and also incredibly successful.
What Happened
Benito looked at an active volcano and thought, "You know what this needs? Pizza." Against all advice from geologists, safety inspectors, and basically everyone, he opened "Magma Crust Pizzeria" inside a dormant section of Mount Vesuvius-Adjacent (not the actual Mount Vesuvius—that would be illegal).
The pizzas are cooked using geothermal heat. The restaurant has a raw, volcanic interior. It's uncomfortable, impractical, and tourists are driving from three countries away to eat there.
Why This Matters
Sometimes the most ridiculous ideas work because nobody else was insane enough to try them.
Deeper Context
Unique restaurant concepts have always drawn crowds. Benito just took that to its logical extreme.
