Smart Parrot Learns to Use Computer, Demands Amazon Prime Account
A parrot named Captain learned to use a computer and has very specific opinions about entertainment.
What Happened
Marcus trained his parrot, Captain, using positive reinforcement. Captain learned to click things on the computer screen. Then Captain got creative.
Captain taught himself to navigate Netflix. He has specific preferences: nature documentaries about parrots, movies with birds, and apparently, he hates most human movies. He'll click away from films within seconds, with critical commentary.
Why This Matters
Animals with cognitive abilities that rival humans are becoming common. The implications are weird.
Deeper Context
Pet intelligence has been increasing. Captain is just the first animal to fully leverage technology.
