What Happened
A parakeet named Pickle learned that one particular button made the garage door move, then began pressing it whenever squirrels gathered outside.
The family first blamed a faulty remote after the door lifted at 7:15 each morning. A camera revealed Pickle perched beside the button, watching the driveway with the focus of a tiny transportation manager.
Once the door opened, two squirrels would hurry toward the bird feeder while a third paused beneath the door as if checking a timetable. Pickle responded with three cheerful whistles, which the family now believes mean “boarding complete.”
By the end of the week, the squirrels had developed an informal schedule. The early group arrived for sunflower seeds, the late group came for peanuts, and one particularly confident squirrel appeared to believe the garage was a train station.
